I am normally not a cold weather person. I still am not. BUT this fall has brought about something totally new with our son – he’s over-the-moon excited about Christmas! Now, I don’t know why, other than maybe lights? All I know is that he can’t stop talking about Christmas. So we decided, early this past Saturday morning, to take him to Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland – a HUGE Christmas store in Frankenmuth, MI. He was in Christmas heaven! Especially when he found the John Deere ornament section. 🙂
We told him he could pick ONE John Deere to put on the tree. He took a good 5-10 minutes picking just the right one. He wanted to take them all, quite honestly. LOL!
After our visit to Bronner’s, we headed to downtown Frankenmuth and walked around. We sampled some cheese, dips, and enjoyed the gorgeous day! Z was most excited about the horse and carriages that would go past every once in a while (we thought of taking him, but then saw the price – $45 for a 20 min ride!!!). It was a great Saturday, that’s for sure. 🙂
Since he was so excited about Christmas (taking him to Christmas town did not help at all, ha!), we decided to put our tree up early. I have NEVER put a tree up this early, EVER. My rule is to wait until the day after Thanksgiving, at least. However, I also have not decorated, at all, for Christmas in at least 3 years. Could be more.
For some reason, my son’s excitement was catching, so I was all on board for decorating. We did it – we put up our tree and some other Christmas decorations. Our son was so excited about the tree and loved decorating it.
So there you have it – we’re ready for Christmas. 🙂 Bonus? I only have one more person to shop for – my husband…I have NO IDEA what to get him, but am paying close attention to him. One of these days, the gift idea will come! 🙂
Anyone else in the Christmas spirit yet? 🙂
