Ok, so I have this nice, comfy sweater that I love. EXCEPT for one thing – it’s a turtleneck. I feel like I am drowning in it. Because of this, I haven’t worn it once this winter. Off to Pinterest I went! I looked at several different blogs and paid close attention to several different ones that talked about removing the turtleneck off of sweaters, yet keeping the sweaters intact. I liked two blogs best (here and here) and using what I read, got started with my sweater.
First up? Determining where to cut…but I turned the sweater inside out, figured it out and started cutting…
I had a few interruptions (my fault – I did this while the toddlers were running around, playing who’s-the-alpha-toddler-this-Monday), but all in all, it only took about 15 minutes to carefully cut away the neck of the sweater. Which left me with the sweater looking like this;
Um, for real? I will take this as a Pinterest WIN!!!! I have MOPS tonight so I just might be wearing this recently recycled sweater!
So what will I be doing with the fabric I cut off? I am thinking of cutting it into two pieces, and sewing them into boot socks. I think that’s what they’re called..hang on…ok, according to the infamous Pinterest, they’re boot socks or boot cuffs. 🙂 I’ll let you know how that goes!
