Christmas Vacation

What a week it’s been! We’ve been visiting with out families since last Wednesday (late) and we’ve been enjoying all the time with them. There’s been WAY TOO MUCH food (who cares? It’s the holidays!), lots and lots of love and fellowship and even less sleep. 🙂

One of the best parts of it all, for me, is that my husband and I have stayed below our budget. Normally, around the holidays, we blow through any money we have and I end up super stressed because we don’t have any money left when we start the new year. Not this year!!! Gosh, it may be hard to have a super tight budget, but the stress-free holidays make it all worthwhile! I can sit here and thoroughly enjoy this time, because I’m not stressed about how the bills will be paid in the weeks coming up. This is absolutely freeing for me! I LOVE IT! I’m pretty sure my husband is enjoying that stress-free side of me, as well. 🙂

Not that it’s all been peaches and cream – our son has come down with what appears to be a cold. 🙁 Last night was the hardest time, so far. He was very clingy and just wanted mommy. Thankfully, he slept through the night (and is still sleeping) with only one coughing fit at 3:30 am. I am praying he’s through the worst of it, because the poor thing was miserable last night. I honestly was prepared for him to be sick, as we’d be around so many people and it was inevitable that he’d catch something, somewhere. And I am not complaining about it, either. He’s actually a really good child when sick. He just wants mommy in eyesight, that’s all. 😉

Today is the last day of 2015 – I don’t have a lot planned for today, other than being with family. How will I ring in the new year? Um, more than likely I will be sound asleep!!! HA! Here’s to ending 2015 on a good note and starting 2016 the same way!
