2 cups soft butter 3 tsp vanilla
1 cup powdered sugar 4 cups flour
2 cups chopped nuts (optional)
Mix everything together. Roll into balls. Roll in powdered sugar (extra powdered sugar – separate from the 1 cup powdered sugar originally included in recipe).
Bake in oven at 350 degrees for approximately 12 minutes.
Roll in powdered sugar while still warm and then again when completely cooled.
* This recipe is not in the Amish Cooking cookbook. My mom gave me this recipe – we made this almost every year at Christmas and it was always a hit.
* I don’t like to put nuts in my cookies, so I always omit this. It’s a messy recipe (rolling in the powdered sugar 3 times), but so worth it. They melt in your mouth! Delicious!
